In all seriousness, there are many things to know comedian Michael Ian Black from. He’s been making people laugh on television shows, films, and stand-up stages across the country for decades. Such as:
-“The State,” a sketch comedy troupe he co-founded and starred in with other funny people like Ken Marino (“Party Down,” “Burning Love,” “Children’s Hospital”) and Michael Showalter (“Wet Hot American Summer”, “The Michael Showalter Show,” “The Baxter”) that had a successful run on MTV in the 90s, and is considered by many to be one of the best sketch shows ever on television.
-Hit NBC series “Ed,” where he played the role of Phil Stubbs, the quirky bowling alley manager, for almost four seasons (and in 2010 started a podcast called “Mike and Tom Eat Snacks” with former “Ed” star Tom Cavanagh).
-Films like “Wet Hot American Summer” and “This is 40,” as well as “Run Fat Boy Run,” starring Simon Pegg, which he wrote the screenplay for.
-As a comedian on VH1’s popular “I Love the…” series. From the 70s to the 80s, 90s and 2000s, he made people laugh through decades of pop culture as one of the show’s most popular contributors.
-Guest starring on show’s like “Reno 911!,” “Crank Yankers” and “Reaper” to name a few, as well as co-creating and starring in comedy series like ” “Stella” and “Michael & Michael Have Issues.”
-As the author of “My Custom Van: And 50 Other Mind Blowing Essays That Will Blow Your Mind All Over Your Face,” the children’s book “Chicken Cheeks” and “America, You Sexy Bitch: A Love Letter to Freedom,” a book he co-wrote with Meghan McCain after taking a road trip across American together during the summer of 2011.
-Not to mention currently starring in Adult Swim’s late night infomercial parody show “You’re Whole,” the popular Yahoo web series turned E! television show “Burning Love” that’s a hysterical parody of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” and as the co-host of TBS’s “Trust Me, I’m A Game Show Host” with comedian D.L. Hughley.

-He is a poker enthusiast who has appeared several times on “Celebrity Poker Showdown,” winning over $100,000 for charity in 2006.
