In just a little over two weeks, America’s best comedians (well, the ones hearty enough to make the trek north) will be arriving by plane, car, and dogsled in order to appear live on stage in Traverse City, February 13-16.
Yes, improvisational genius Fred Willard — the four-time Emmy nominee with over 1,000 TV appearances (from “Get Smart” to “Modern Family”) and over 70 scene-stealing film roles in great movies like “Best in Show,” “Anchorman,” and “Wall-E” — will join me on stage in conversation and receive our 2014 Comedy Legend Award.
Willard joins an incredibly laugh-packed lineup that includes Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Ian Black, Tig Notaro, Stephen Lynch, Sinbad, Tim Meadows, Dave Foley, Jeff Garlin, Matt Braunger, Kirk Fox, Dan St. Germain, Sarah Tiana, TJ & Dave, Mike Toomey, and Set List.
The entire show schedule and full festival program (complete with all the FREE on Front details) is available NOW online or for download. You can a lso look for a printed schedule in Wednesday’s Record-Eagle, or pick one up at the State Theatre or around town.
Now’s the time to take a hard look at this can’t-miss schedule, make some difficult decisions, and find something to laugh about in a winter that most certainly has been no joke. My advice? Go to as many shows as you can! Most shows will have TWO or MORE comedians performing.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 31 at 12 noon, online and in the State Theatre lobby.
We hope to see you downtown Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 16 for a true vortex of comedy. And in this bitter, bone-chilling, I-can’t-feel-my-face cold, who couldn’t use a few good laughs?
Michael Moore and Jeff Garlin
